Melanie began her practice when her then best friend (now husband of more than 10 years) introduced her to yoga several years before they started dating. Always curious, she took as many different classes as she could to learn about the different types of yoga. Her classical voice training was a plus to building her practice because she innately understood to be successful, not only was proper body alignment essential but it must work with to proper breathing. How else can an opera singer get all that sound out of a little body!
After a difficult and stressful first pregnancy, Melanie knew she had to return to her yoga practice to help her daily with the challenges of raising a child on the Autism spectrum. It provides her with a calmness, which in turn helps him integrate into today’s society. She’s also passing on her yoga practice to her youngest child to focus on her breath to calm the body helping her with her ADHD.
Melanie is a certified Yoga Instructor, having earned her 200-HR yoga certification at Riverstone Yoga. She is also certified to teach Hot Hiit Pilates, Ghosh yoga, and Yin yoga.
