Joy Jacobson has been involved in the fitness field for over 25 years, both as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor. Originally a dancer, she now is a certified Pilates Mat instructor, teachers tai chi classes, and for 25 years have been a certified teacher of the Alexander Technique. Joy has been a practitioner of Iyengar yoga and Zen meditation, and is currently studying Neuro-Kinetic Therapy.
In 2012, she began her training as a MELT instructor with Suue Hitzman, the creator of MELT, and has gone through the advanced training's for MELT Performance and MELT for Pilates. MELT is a self-care method that utilizes soft balls and foam rollers to rehydrate the connective tissue system to get rid of stuck stress and pain. It is a missing link to maintaining an active and pain-free life and is the perfect tool to bridge all of Joy's passions - movement, bodywork, fitness, and health.
